Garry Thomas Cotnam Thursday October 6th 2022

Cotnam, Garry
Our beloved Garry passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on October 6, 2022 at 12:32 p.m., after a short and courageous battle. He was the much loved and devoted husband to Sharon (nee Chonoskie), a wonderful and treasured father and best friend to son Brian, cherished father-in-law to Vanessa, the best big brother to Karen (Woods), and son-in-law to Ann Chonoskie (the late Cecil).
Garry was born in Oshawa on March 3, 1948 to the late Thomas and Irene (nee Cuddahee) Cotnam.
His passion for golf started at a very young age when he was a caddy at the Oshawa Golf Club. Over the years, he was a member at a variety of golf courses, the last being Oshawa Golf Club. Garry gave to his community through his involvement in youth sports and activities. He was a soccer coach for Baker Parks League for many years, assistant coach for his son’s hockey team and a Cubs and Boy Scouts Leader for Scouts Canada.
Thank you to the doctors and nurses at Lakeridge Health Oshawa Critical Care Unit for their great care and compassion they gave him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa, ON). A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences may be shared at www.armstrongfh.ca
