Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Garnett (Gary Ladd) Ladouceur who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 25, 2021.
Gary was born on December 17, 1946 in Midland, Ontario where he grew up.
He worked for 22 years at the Globe and Mail in Toronto as well as newspapers in Edmonton and Calgary. He also worked at Sait. He was a car salesman and service manager at various dealerships throughout Calgary, drove a taxi in Ontario, a tour bus in Alberta, and owned the “Black & White Car Service” in High River.
He married the love of his life, Lise, in 1999 and they spent many happy years on their acreage in Okotoks raising llamas and alpacas and looking after their dogs and cats. He created the Llama and Alpaca Lifestyle Magazine and both he and Lise enjoyed meeting with other like-minded people.
He was a member of the Chinook and High River Rotary Clubs and enjoyed playing cribbage at the Legion. He loved hockey and was a devout Flames fan. He also enjoyed music and sang in a quartet with the Stampede City Chorus and the Western Hospitality Singers. His love for classic cars took him to many car shows.
Gary’s interests and talents were vast and varied and he made many friends along the way. Gary enjoyed meeting and interacting with people and was a kind, loving and generous man, never hesitating to volunteer or lend a helping hand whenever or wherever needed. He lived every day with positivity and love.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lise, his daughters, Simone and Tammy; step-children, Charline (Rob) and Mathew (Brenna); grandchildren Casey, Kaylene, Kendall, Luke, Jordan and Bailey; 5 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Frank, Ken and Michael; two sisters, Teresa and Bonnie; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
