Doris “Gail” Page was born June 28, 1946, the only daughter of Bert and Doris Page. She passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 25, 2022. She is survived by one brother, Bert; his children, Cam and Candace; and great-nephews and -nieces. She leaves to cherish her memory several cousins and many good friends.
Gail grew up in Whitewood, SK, and attended Whitewood School, graduating in 1964. Following graduation, she went to Teacher’s College in Regina. Gail taught in many schools – Fort Qu’Appelle, Esterhazy, Wolseley, Whitewood and Kronau. Upon retirement, she returned to Whitewood to care for her parents, who were both in their 90s. Gail’s love of family was very strong. She cared for her parents unselfishly until their passing.
Gail loved her garden and yard and spent many hours tending to it. She devoted a great deal of time at Forest Farm Church and Cemetery, seeing to the upkeep of her family plots. Forest Farm was a passion of hers, and she strived to preserve its heritage. Gail had a special relationship with the Lord and an undying faith.
Gail loved her friends and never hesitated to show how much she truly cared for them. Her friendship will last through this world and the next.
Gail loved her dogs. They were very special to her. They were more than just animals – they were her companions. They loved her unconditionally as she loved them. We are sure they will meet her at the Rainbow Bridge.
The Rainbow Bridge
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.
There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!
You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together. Never again to be separated.
