Gail Evyonne (Leavitt) Gaudette
1948-2022
The death of the late Gail Evyonne (Cooke) (Leavitt)
Gaudette, beloved wife of the late Aime Joseph Gaudette of Utopia NB
occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 29, 2022. Born
at Blacks Harbour NB on April 5, 1948, she was a daughter of the late
Arnold SR and Lois Aileen(Seamans) Cooke. A loving mother, grandmother
and sister she is survived by her daughter: Mary Leavitt (Stephen
Martin) of Utopia ;grandchildren: Robert Leslie of Saint John NB,
Robin Leslie (Robert Barrio) of St. George NB, Jeremy Leavitt of
Utopia, Jenny Lee Leavitt (Ricky Holt) of Deer Island NB and Jessica
Leavitt of Utopia NB and Quintin Leavitt (Jenna Mailett) of Blacks
Harbour NB; chosen granddaughter: Brooklyn Herrington; great
grandchildren: Kira, Ashton, Paige, Rachael, Cloe, Cohen, Evan, Owen,
Ella, Charlie, Camden and Desiree; brothers: John (Brenda) Cooke of
Deer Island and Burton Cooke (Kathy) of Beaver Harbour NB; Son in law;
Eugene Leslie of Back Bay NB as well as several nieces, nephews and
cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her
husbands: Aime Gaudette and Royce Leavitt, her daughter Winnifred
Leslie, her sisters: Jean Leavitt, Sally Barry, Janice Green, Violet
Cooke and Connie Mcvicar and her brothers: Gerald, Wendell, Arnold Jr,
Rufus, Lawrence and Vance.
Prior to her retirement, Gail worked several years for
Connor’s Bros in Back Bay who was known for her speed and she was
crowned champion several times of sardine packing. Gail loved eating
good food, morning phone calls reaching out to her entire family,
keeping everyone informed, she had a great sense of humor and enjoyed
telling jokes, laughing and especially making other people laugh. She
also had a fondness for country music and knitting for her family.
Gail will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew
her.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal
visitation or service. A celebration of life will be held at a time to
be announced. In Gail’s memory, donations to any food bank, homeless
or animal shelter or a charity of the donor’s choice would be
