CAUGHILL, Gail Janice (nee Brown) 1949-2022 – passed away at the Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington on Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 in her 73rd year. Beloved wife of Garry Caughill and mother of Christopher. Predeceased by her parents, the late George (1982) & Dorothy (2013) Brown. Gail is survived by Garry’s mother Mable Caughill of Simcoe. Gail will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Elaine Laplante (Gerry) of Corbeil and Cheryl Caswell (Terry Schott) of Brantford. Sadly missed by Garry’s siblings Audrey Dougherty (Keith), Linda Norman (Rick), Dennis Caughill (Janet) and Joyce Breedyk (Dick). Gail lived in Brantford for many years. She worked at Brantwood Centre for over 22 years. She married in 1990 and moved to the Simcoe area for a second career as a dairy farmer. Friends are invited to share their memories of Gail with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe N3Y 3R3 on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 for visitation from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. (Masks & Social Distancing Mandatory) A private funeral “by invitation only” will be held with interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Brantford. Those wishing to donate in memory of Gail are asked to consider the Simcoe & District Humane Society. We wish to thank the doctors and staff of the 4th floor at Joseph Brant Hospital for their exceptional care during Gail’s brief stay.
