C’est avec profonde tristesse que la famille annonce son décès le lundi 26 septembre 2022 à l’âge de 85 ans. Fille de feu Albert Fortin et feue Yvonne (née Grandchamp) Fortin. Épouse bien-aimée de 60 ans à Raymond Julien. Mère bien-aimée de Michel (Cathy) et Colette Julien Leclair (Robert). Elle laisse dans le deuil ses petits-enfants Zachary (Charlotte), Kaitlin, Magalie et Jérémie. Chère soeur de Denise Bélanger (Maurice). Prédécédée par sa sœur Estelle. Elle laisse également dans le deuil plusieurs nièces, neveux, parenté et amis.
Gabrielle fut une enseignante dévouée chez les petits pendant 35 ans. Elle était aussi très engagée dans sa communauté et sa paroisse à titre de décoratrice d’église, de membre de la chorale, de cuisinière pour le Club amical et bénévole pour la Popote Roulante. Elle aimait voyager, coudre, tricoter, popoter… une femme à tout faire… mais son plus grand bonheur était sa famille. Elle était toujours là pour offrir de l’aide, des conseils, du réconfort, de l’amour.
La famille tient à remercier tous les intervenants qui lui ont offert du confort et des soins et ceci toujours à la maison jusqu’à ses derniers moments. Un merci tout à fait spécial à Shanen de Canadian Shield pour son dévouement et sa tendresse. Merci à l’équipe d’HSN pour leur empathie dans ses dernières heures.

It is with great sorrow that the family announces her passing in Sudbury on Monday, September 26, 2022, at the age of 85 years. Daughter of the late Albert Fortin and late Yvonne (née Grandchamp) Fortin. Beloved wife of 60 years to Raymond Julien. Loving mother of Michel (Cathy) and Colette Julien Leclair (Robert). Cherished grandmother of Zachary (Charlotte), Kaitlin, Magalie and Jérémie. Dear sister of Denise Bélanger (Maurice). Predeceased by her sister Estelle. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Gabrielle was a dedicated elementary school teacher for 35 years. She was also very engaged in her community and her parish as a church decorator, a member of the choir, a cook at the Club amical and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She loved to travel, sew, knit, cook… a multi-skilled woman…but her greatest joy was her family. She was always there to offer help, guidance, comfort, love.
The family wishes to thank all caregivers who offered comfort and care and this in her home until her last moments. A most heartfelt thank you to Shanen from Canadian Shield for her devotion and tenderness. Thank you to the amazing team at HSN for their empathy in her final hours.
