Obituary
John Fulton in his 90th year died Friday September 2, 2022 surrounded by his family.
John was a proud Scotsman, born in Ayr, Scotland and raised in Beith. After serving in the British Army during the Korean War he struck out on a new adventure to Canada.
The day after emigrating to Canada in 1956 he began work in a tire factory in Kitchener. He decided that was not where his future lay. He applied to Bell Telephone, was hired and spent 6 months alone on the Mid Canada Line with only a cook. He was eventually transferred to Kapuskasing where he met his future wife Marjory.
John was married to the love of his life Marjory for almost 62 years. Their’s was a true love story. After meeting in Kapuskasing they married and had two daughters Catherine (Claude) and Moira (Greg)
They subsequently moved to Sturgeon Falls and have spent the last 52 years in their original home in North Bay. He was proud of his three grandchildren Andrew, Lindsay (Trevor) and Meghan (Taylor) and had great affection for his great grandchildren Deklan, Gryphon and Clara
He retired from Bell Canada after 34 dedicated years.
His family will remember him best for his love of reading his newspapers, his books and his love of History. He was a very loyal friend to many. He was meticulous in everything he did, and was a skilled wood worker with hand tools.
John is also survived by brother Bill (Jeanette) in Canada, sister Catherine and brother Dan in Scotland, as well as nieces and nephews.
As per John’s wishes there will be no service. Private interment will take place.
If desired donations in John’s memory can be made to the Salvation Army.
