Frederick Randall “Fred” Briggs
1935-2022
With deep sadness and much love, the family of
Frederick Randall “Fred” Briggs of Coldbrook,
formerly of Dartmouth, announces his peaceful passing in his sleep on
Saturday, July 30, 2022, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
Born in Fredericton, NB in 1935, he was a son of the late Josephine
(Purves) and Charles Raymond Briggs.
After retiring in 1991 from a technical career
with CBC-TV, Halifax, Fred enjoyed a lengthy and active retirement. He
loved hunting, fishing, travelling, spending time with family and
friends, playing many card games and
barbecuing.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Willa
(nee McElman); sons, David (Betty, deceased) and Steven (Margo);
daughter, Lorinda (Larry) Barnett; grandchildren, Tonya, Blake,
Zachary, Neil and Adam; great-grandchildren, Theo, Felix, Arthur,
Josie, Henry and Eric; and his sister, Angela (David)
Faubert.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased
by his sister, Rae Rowan; brother, John (Wilverna) Briggs;
daughter-in-law, Betty Briggs and brother-in-law, Maurice
Rowan.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of
Fred’s life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Friday,
August 5, 2022 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Interment
will take place at a later date in Lakeville Corner, NB.
Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
