Frederick Allen “Fred” Young
1943-2022
Frederick Allen Young
Jr. – 78 of Steam Mill. It is with deep sadness that we
announce the peaceful passing of Frederick Allen Young Jr., at home on
January 16, 2022. Born in Berwick, Fred was the beloved son of the
late Frederick Sr. and Gertrude (née Dugas) Young. He will
be remembered by his wife of more than 30 years, Linda (Adams) (Clark)
Young. Fred was the much-loved father of Sabrina (Robert) Reade,
Warren Young, both residing in Edmonton; Matthew (Mavie) Young,
residing in Winnipeg and step-son, Scott Clark, predeceased; sisters,
Arlene Novales and Joyce Lata; grandchildren, great grandchildren,
nieces and nephews. Fred was a member of the Canadian Forces Reserves,
Aldershot and worked for CB Robinson/GM Parts. Fred was a volunteer
with the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department, making it to the rank of
Deputy Fire Chief. He was an ambulance driver for H.C. Lindsay
Ambulance, Kentville and he was employed with the Town of Kentville
for over 30 years as a police officer. In his spare time Fred loved
playing cards and was an especially good player of 45’s and
crib. He also enjoyed fishing, playing baseball and had a love of
animals, especially cats which he loved very much. As per
Fred’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral
service. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorial
donations may be made to Children’s Wish Foundation. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
