It is with great sadness that the family of the late Fred Joseph Saunders announces his passing at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre, Botwood, NL aged 85 years.
Fred leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children, Alonzo Saunders (Gayla), Wavey Mills (Chris), and Karen Norman (Eldon); son-in-law, Derek Mitchell; grandchildren, Hayley (Cody), Marcus (Kristin), Jenna (Shawn), Vanessa, Ashley, Melanie (Nathaniel), Kaylee (Justin), Alisha (Brandon) and Dawson; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Calvin (Phyllis) Saunders, siblings-in-law, Jessie Perry, Willis Young (Audrey), Sophie Burriage; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Fred was predeceased by his wife, Tephi Saunders; daughter, Ferne Mitchell; parents, Samuel & Elizabeth Saunders; parents-in-law, George & Lucy King; siblings, infants George & Nelson Saunders, Lindberg Saunders, Selby Saunders (Maude), Phyllis Young; siblings-in-law, Edna King (Warrick), Daisy Dwyer (Micheal), Evelyn Newbury (Francis), Nellie Green (Edward), William King (Pauline), Alonzo Perry (Eliza), James Perry, Harrison Burriage & Ernest Perry.
Public visitation will take place from Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
The funeral service will take on Sunday, October 16 2022 at 2 pm from Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL with Pastor Craig Lane officiating.
As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
