Fraser Williams Thursday April 28th 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of our father, grandfather, friend, and beloved husband, whose sudden passing has left us lost. He passed away on April 28 at HSC under the wonderful care of the staff on ward GD2.
Fraser was born to Frank and Margaret Williams in Hamilton, Ontario and moved to Manitoba in the mid-50s to a life in the St. James area of Silver Heights.
He met his wife Peggy-Ann in 1969 and they were married in January of 1971. They set up their home in St. James also and raised two wonderful daughters: Melody and Alexis.
Fraser worked in construction, built bridges with R&J McGee in the 60s and 70s and spent time working in the North as well. His final stint away from home was to build high rise condos in the Toronto area and renovating restaurants on Grandville Island in Vancouver. After 25 years living out of a suitcase he said he had had enough and wanted to be with family. He did restaurant maintenance for Earl’s and Grapes as well as others.
The desire to get out of the city was always strong and in 2001 we bought land east of Winnipeg and he built a home for us. He loved it here and was often found sitting on the bench by our pond or walking on the dike with one of our Border Collies. Fraser also enjoyed participating in the Farmer’s Market at Lac du Bonnet selling honey from our own Honey Bees.
Fraser is survived by his wife Peggy-Ann of 51 years, daughter Melody (son Owen Fraser), Alexis (Colin Botkin) and their daughter Maevis Ann and son Arthur David.
A private family viewing was held on May 1st and cremation has taken place. A celebration will be held at a later date so friends can gather to remember him.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Health Sciences Center at hscfoundation.mb.ca.
Always remember to love your family and hold them close. Our time together is precious albeit too short and can be gone in the blink of an eye with only memories to sustain us.
