Obituary
With broken hearts the family announces his passing at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Monday December 12, 2022, at the age of 74 years. Fraser was the beloved spouse of Julie Forbes and the loving father to Erica McDowell (Gavin) and Neil Munro. He was the cherished grandfather to Connor, Brooke, and Cody. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Darleen Munro (late Alan) and Hugh Munro (Valerie) and by a special niece Veronica Williams (Ted). He will also be sadly missed by sister in law Debra Vautour (Charlie) and brother in law David Hutchison (Leigh), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Angus and May Munro and nephew Bobby Williams. Fraser was a North Bay firefighter for many years until his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed hunting, camping and especially fishing at Munro Park Campground in Powassan, which he helped build along with his parents and siblings. Many a day was spent there teaching his children and nephew and niece the wonders of the great outdoors. Many thanks to the incredible staff at North Bay General Health Centre, specifically the CCC/Dementia Unit for taking care of him with such compassion and kindness. As per Fraser’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be conducted at Munro Park next summer by the family. If desired, Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, North Bay Humane Society, or the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by Fraser’s family.
