Franklyn Aidan Jackson was born August 31, 1936 in Ville Emard, QC.
Eldest child of Alfred Jackson and Nora Lena Roberts. Dad was loving big brother to the late Nora (Lorne), Elaine (John), the late Frances and Jim (Nancy).
Peacefully in his sleep at home, Dad left us Friday, March 25 after a long, courageous fight with the unforgiving and awful disease that is Alzheimers.
Dad has finally been rejoined with the love of his life Lorna (née Dady) who predeceased him in 2005.
He was an amazing father to Margaret (Steve) and Laura (Giovanni) and proud grandfather of Alanna, Cameron and Patrick. Dad leaves many nieces, nephews, family members and friends who will remember him fondly.
Dad’s sense of humour and quick wit were only part of his endearing charm. Cringe-worthy jokes and one-liners were almost a prerequisite when sitting around Grandma and Grandpa’s dinner table in Morin Heights, where, when able, the whole family would come together to eat, drink and laugh – creating a lifetime of memories.
He was, first and foremost, a family man, who proudly provided for his family.
After retiring from CN with 40 years of service as a computer analyst – back in the day when a computer filled an entire room – he and Mum enjoyed travelling the globe, experiencing the sights, sounds and excitement of new places.
Margaret and I will be forever grateful to all of the people who helped make Dad’s last years ones filled with quality and dignity. Our cousin Debbie, who clearly loved her Uncle Fink, and his heaven-sent caregivers Ally, Alice and Katelyn who always lovingly treated Dad like he was their own.
Deepest appreciation to Dr. Catherine Ferrier (MGH Department of Geriatrics) and to Serge Ilela, Kiara Seta and Bill Green from the Home Care team at CLSC Benny.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate Dad’s life, Friday, April 8 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. for visitation, then Saturday, April 9 at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
