In his own way and own time after a courageous battle Franklin (Frank) Chester Bartley Jr. passed away at London Health Sciences Centre, University Hospital at the age of 49.
Beloved husband, love of his life and best friend of Sharon (Potter) Bartley. Loving father of the light of his life Mallory Potter-Bartley (Tyler Hoadley) and his ever so loved furry friend Diesel. Frank was born in Sarnia, ON, June 09, 1972, the youngest child of his late parents that he loved and missed so dearly, Franklin Chester Bartley Sr. and Barbara Rose (Roberts) Bartley. Frank will continue his journey being welcomed into the Lord’s Kingdom to be with his loved parents. Loving son-in-law of Leslie Potter and the late Judith Potter. Survived by his dear brother Charles (Jo-Ann) Bartley, forever loved Bro of Ellen Larocque (John Benjamin), forever loved baby brother of Linda (Terry) Rattigan and honorary sister Patt Stewart. Survived by his loved sister-in laws Joanne Probetts (Rick) and Jennifer Donkers (Brian). Cherished uncle of Michael (Jen), Robert, Melissa, Kevin, Darian, Kayla, Sydney, Hunter, Sam, Grady, Michael (Tara), Shawn (Sarah) and Jamie (Kendra). Great uncle of Aaliyah, Randi, Riley, Alexandra, Kaitlyn, Finn, Arwen, Harper, Abigail, Zoey, Jack and Ryan. Loved nephew of Michael (Dorothy) Roberts, Wayne Baker (late Joann), William (Joanne) Bartley, Sally (Jack) Cooper, Marion (Doug) McPhedran, Steve Luther (Agnes), Alma Hall (Lloyd), Mary Cates (Gord), Barbara Hayward (Al), Edna Wheeler (Allan), Jackie Waltham (late Rick) and Mike Lukasiewicz (late Pat) and honorary Auntie Kim Vanveldhuisen (Norm Parent).
Predeceased by his grandparents Ellen Peters, Anna Bartley, Jessie Roberts, Chester Bartley and uncle Jessie Roberts. Family was always the most important thing to Frank. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, great cousins, great-great-cousins and many friends. He was best known as “Spank” or “Spankie” by his dearly loved Uncle Jack. Frank loved spending time with family and friends (Murray, Daryl, Willy, Kevin and Chip and families), camping at Lakewood Christian Campground, spending time outdoors, golfing, taking day trips, playing cards and helping others. He loved his sports and was a dedicated fan of the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Lions. The Bartley family would like to thank the staff of LHSC University Hospital, Bluewater Health for all exemplary care they provided to Frank through the past months. A special thank you to our dear friend Dr. Michael Stoesser. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on, Friday, April 8, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Celebration of life will take place at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the St. Josephs Hospice, Sarnia (cheques only at the funeral home please).
