Frank Egerton Farley 1931 2022

Obituary of Frank Egerton Farley
May 10, 1931 – March 21, 2022
In his 91st year, and after 8 ½ years in the Ridgeview Long Term Care Home, Frank is finally at peace. Frank was a most loving father to his predeceased daughters Susan Farley and Beth Groves. He will be dearly missed by Janet, his wife of 66 years, his 3 grandchildren Santanna, Keanan and Kolton Groves and his in-laws Olive and Ron Hopkins.
Frank had a happy and well lived life. He enjoyed his 35 years as a teacher and principal for the Hamilton Board of Education, where he was well liked by his pupils, staff and fellow teachers. Frank had a great love of music. He taught music early in his career; was a founding member of the Hamilton Men Teachers Choir; sang in church choirs for over 40 years (Delta and Stoney Creek United); was a tenor soloist with the Hamilton Savoyards (Gilbert and Sullivan Organization); was a soloist at other churches and weddings and had a really large collection of classical music.
Frank had a great love for his own small island in Bala Bay, Lake Muskoka, known as News Island, which was enjoyed by family and friends for 40 years. Frank’s other source of happiness was owning Siamese cats for 60 years, as many as 4 at a time. He really had it all, an enjoyable career, many summers on his island, 20 years travelling to Florida, cruises, road trips, a hobby he loved, many great friends, a wife to look after him and 2 daughters who adored him (it all started with funny nighttime stories).
Thank you to all the caring and friendly staff at Ridgeview. Your love and patience over this long-time was most appreciated. Frank chose cremation and to have no funeral service. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
