Frank Leriche
1944-2022
Frank LeRiche, 77, formerly of NL, passed away at
the K. E. Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton, where he resided, on Monday,
January 10, 2022. Born in Badger, NL, he was the son of the late
Francis and Gladys (Tapp) LeRiche.
Four words come to mind when we think of Dad:
Newfoundland, trains, trees, and gum. He was a passionate and
hardworking railroader with the Newfoundland Railway and CNR. He loved
to work. The roar of the engine was his heartbeat, and hisknees felt
every leap from a boxcar and caboose. He spent many years working the
rails in a number of provinces but his years in Newfoundland were the
closest to his heart. This was home. This barren but mighty rock is
where his heart remained no matter where he lived. He stayed true to
his accent, his love of pork fat and ‘Newfoundland steak and
cow’. You would never dare think of serving anything other
than Tetley tea around Dad.
Dad loved being in the woods no matter the season:
black fly or freezing (the only real seasons in NL). He was never
happier than when he was cutting trees and filling his wood shed. His
many nieces, nephews and grandkids, who affectionately called him
‘Guy’ knew he was always a good source for gum.
Dad was never without a pack or two nearby.
May your soul rest among the trees,
tracks and rocky shores that you loved.
Survived and sadly missed by his wife,
Grace (White); children, Maria Cyr (Philippe Cyr),and Tammy LeRiche
(Jason Rockburne); grandchildren, Adrianna and Logan Cyr; brother,
Donald LeRiche; and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by sisters, Laura Noseworthy
and Hazel LeRiche; and brother, Llewelyn LeRiche.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will
be no services at this time. Arrangements in care of The Salisbury
