Francis Reed Purnell, formerly of Cardston, Alberta, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the age of 81.
Reed will be dearly missed by his four children Tamra (David) Murray, Taite (Erin) Purnell, Treean Purnell (Jaime Carroll) and Tia Loewen; grandchildren Mason, Shae, Kailee, Zoe, Kyle, Riley, Jasper, Nolan and Lyra; and brother Jay (Gail) Purnell. He leaves behind a large, much loved, extended family and many friends. Reed was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, an avid animal lover, and devoted Grandfather.
A family service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Pierson’s Funeral Service, 4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta. Following a short reception at the funeral home, interment will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the Woolford Cemetery, Woolford, Alberta.
In lieu of cards or flowers, donations would be appreciated, and may be made in Reed’s memory to Diabetes Canada (crm2.diabetes.ca). The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Carewest Garrison Green, for the dedicated support and compassion Reed received while in their care.
