Francis Frank Nadon July 22 2022

Francis “Frank” Xavier Nadon
August 30, 1928 – July 22, 2022
Passed away peacefully at the Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care in Barry’s Bay, just shy of his 94th birthday.
Frank was born in Edam, Saskatchewan, moved to Timmins as a young boy, and then made his way to St. Catharines. He started his carrier delivering bread and later driving delivery trucks, dump trucks, and taxis until a terrible workplace accident left him incapable of working. While on a road trip in 1989, he drove through the village of Golden Lake, spotted a house for sale, and bought it. When asked why Golden Lake, he replied, ‘I liked the town.’
Not many people saw the real side of Frank. He was a wonderful man with a big heart and a secret sense of humour. He was also incredibly stubborn.
Frank was the oldest brother in the family of two other brothers and nine sisters. He has a daughter, Claire of Vancouver, and is preceded in death by his daughter Jeanine. He has a special niece named Lynn Servos-Post of Eldorado.
Frank’s many visits to the local restaurant generated a remarkable, loving connection with Keri-Lynn Walker leading to a Grandpa/Granddaughter relationship.
Frank will leave a void behind but will stay in our hearts forever.
Sincere thanks to the Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care Centre. Without the staff, doctors, PSWs, nurses, volunteers, and the home life experience, Frank’s journey would have been a difficult one both mentally and physically.
Cremation has taken place, and a private burial will be held later this summer in St. Catharines. In honour of Frank, donations in support of the Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care Centre (St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation) are encouraged.

When I was less than I should be,
And I couldn’t face the day,
When darkness fell around me,
And I couldn’t find my way,
When my eyes couldn’t see clearly,
And I stumbled through it all,
I knew I could lean upon you,
I knew you would keep me strong.
You raised me when I fell,
You were there when I needed you most,
You were there so constantly,
You came shining through.
You were always there for me,
When life brought me to my knees,
When my back was against the wall,
You were standing there right with me,
You kept me standing tall.
You were there when I most needed you,
You were there so constantly,
You came shining through.
You always did.
You were always there for me.
