It is with tender hearts that the family of Frank Ennis, 68, of Middle New Cornwall announces his passing on Monday, May 23, 2022 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in St. John’s Newfoundland, Frank was the son to the late William and ‘Jeanie’ (Critch) Ennis.
Frank put his skilled hands to many vocations over the years including working for Syncrude in the oil fields, aboard ship for Marine Atlantic, a carrier for Canada Post, a piano mover, an employee in the lumber yard with Nova Scotia Building Supplies, a freelance carpenter and meticulous painter, as well as a downhill ski instructor.
Frank was always athletic, most particularly an avid skier, whose passion for the sport inspired his travels to the more challenging slopes across this country and south of the border. He proudly shared his record of 100 consecutive days on the ski hill each season and was happiest when the powder was deep and the runs were fast. Frank possessed an affinity for nice cars and motorcycles and took as much enjoyment in keeping them spotless as he did in making all the road trips those modes of transportation afforded him. In recent years, together with his wife, Roxanne, he enjoyed many excursions throughout eastern Canada creating photographs and taking-in art galleries, wineries and antique shops, appeasing his impeccable taste for quality things. He will also be remembered for his love of music, most notably as a Beatles admirer.
Frank is survived by his wife, Roxanne, daughter, Meagan Grass (Brandon) and grandsons Grayson and Declan of Spruce Grove, Alberta; brother, Bob Ennis of Salmon Arm, BC; sister, Barbara Ennis of Kelowna, BC; stepchildren, Adam Ritchie of Maitland and Megan Ritchie of Hammonds Plains; and nieces and nephews, Leslie, David, Tiffany, Rob, Dwayne, Vanessa, Carlo, Marshall and Tara.
Frank was predeceased by his parents and brother, Gerry Ennis.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. At Frank’s request, cremation has taken place and there will not be a memorial service.
In lieu of flowers those desiring may send memorial donations to the South Shore Palliative Care or to a charity of your choice.
