Obituary
Florence Marie (Lemieux) Doyle August 30th 1925 to August 31st 2022
We celebrate the life of Florence (Lemieux) Doyle which came to an end on August 31st at the age of ninety-seven. Florence Lemieux spent her early childhood in Alberta the second youngest of five children. As a teenager she moved with the family to BC and after graduating worked at the telephone company for six years where she became shift manager. In January 1951 she married Norbert Vincent Doyle where she became a loving mother to six precocious children. Terrance, Christopher, Timothy, Lorraine, Diane and Gregory.
During her years in Vancouver, Flo was very active at Corpus Christi parish volunteering at most every opportunity, often baking for days on end. Flo and Norb loved to entertain, travel, and play golf. They were members at Point Grey Golf and Country Club where her generous spirit led her to volunteer there as well, culminating in a term as ladies club president.
Following the passing of Norb in 2000, Florence moved to Qualicum Beach where she continued her love of cooking and entertaining. Her guests were always impressed with her “at the ready” hors d’oeuvres that would impress the most fervent “foody”, but mostly friends and family came to be with Flo because to know her was to be blessed with her loving spirit.
She was greatly loved by her family including sons/daughters-in-law (Laureen, Aline, Barry, Stuart and Kelly) and her thirteen grandchildren (Katie, Meghann, Caroline, Matthew, Jessica, Melanie, Jonathan, Neil, Jacob, Eamon, Ian, Clare, Carter) and her three (and counting) great grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life September 9th 1:00 pm at Church of the Ascension in Parksville where Florence asks that attendees feel free to wear colourful attire as a life this wonderful deserves to be celebrated.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Florence Marie Doyle August 30 1925 August 31 2022 (age 97)..
