PARKER: Florence Gwendolyn “Gwen” (nee Treleaven) – passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the Guelph General Hospital. Gwen Parker of Washington, ON in her 91st year.
Beloved wife of the late Tom Parker who predeceased her December 2, 1989. Loving mother of Brad of Washington. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Erik, Jessica, Devon, Coltan, Dylan and by great granddaughters Lily and Violet. Survived by her sister-in-law Marjorie Patterson of Kitchener.
Predeceased by her son Glen (Jan 25, 2009), her parents Bert & Amelia (Hackett) Treleaven, brother Ronald Treleaven, sisters Eileen & Jack Curran, Anna Mae & Vern Hunter and Beatrice & Larry Tremain.
Gwen started her teaching career in 1955 and then retired from the Plattsville Public School after 34 years of dedication to the kids. She was an active member of the former Washington United Church and then the Peace United Church, Plattsville.
Relatives and friends will be received in the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William St. Plattsville on Wednesday from 5-8 pm. Funeral service will be conducted from the Peace United Church, Plattsville on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 1:00pm. Interment to follow in Plattsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Peace United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Personal condolences can be posted at www.gffh.ca
