On Wednesday December 21st, 2022, Peacefully at Baycrest surrounded by her loving family.
Our hearts are broken on the passing of our beloved Matriarch.
Florence was married to the late Jacques Benezra, the love of her life for 59 years.
Florence was the mother of Liz Pal and Natalie Waldman and mother in law of Leonard Waldman.
Devoted sister of Rosa Elbaz, Rachel Suissa, the late Zeeva Cohen, the late Andre Elbaz, the late Nissim Elbaz, the late Robert Elbaz, and the late Elias Elbaz.
Florence was a loving grandmother to Sarah, Adam, Nicole, Danielle, Raquel, and Jordan, and a great grandmother to Isla.
Florence held a very special place in the hearts of her adoring grandchildren who affectionately called her “Meme”.
Florence was a strong determined and independent women who loved her family dearly, they were the focal point of her life. Nothing made her happier than cooking for them and sharing her incredible Moroccan Recipes which her family enjoyed so much.
She will be dearly and forever missed by her extended family and close friends from near and far.
Florence loved, and was loved, she was respected by those who knew her.
May Florences memory always and forever be a cherished blessing.
A special thank you to the Acute Care Team at NYGH and the Palliative Care Team at Baycrest.
Their compassion and caring for our mother will always be remembered.
