Oliveira, Fernanda (nee Demonte Couto)
Peacefully at Sakura House Hospice, Woodstock, surrounded by her loving family after a three year courageous battle with cancer at the age of 81 on December 17, 2022. Fernanda is survived by her loving spouse Evelino for 60 years of marriage. Loving Mother of Olga (John Dean) Barreca, Dean (Carolyn), Susie (Frank) Costa. Adoring vavo of Sarah, Celena, Emily, Vincent, Stephanie and Olivia. Her grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy. Her immense love for them gave her strength, happiness and courage. Sister and Sister-in-law of Alda (the late Manuel) Medeiros and the late Jose De Couto (Maria). Predeceased by her parents Ernesto and Erene. Fernanda will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada, USA and Portugal. A special thank you to nurse Deidra “Dee” and all of the doctors, nurses and staff at Sakura House Hospice, for their care. Fernanda’s legacy of love and compassion is her greatest gift to her entire family and anyone that knew her. She will always be remembered for her warmth, sense of humour, exceptional witt, beautiful smile and passion for engaging in conversation. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL on Wednesday December 21, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-9pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St Lawrence The Martyr Parish on Thursday December 22, 2022 at 10am. Entombment to follow at Gate of heaven cemetery, Burlington. Donations to Sakura House Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family .
