It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fernand Gaston Laurin (71yrs) on Aug 12, 2022.
Fern was born on July 2, 1951, the eldest son of Raoul Laurin, brother Claude Morin (predeceased), sister Claire Babbage (Wayne, predeceased). Many thanks to the Charron family for taking him in at two years old and making him a part of their family. Parents Jean-Gaston and Cécile (both predeceased), siblings Gisele (Guy) both predeceased, Yugette (Glenn), Jean-Marc (Estelle), Carole (Bob). Fern will be missed by many friends, nieces, and nephews. Special mention to Gisele Pilotte, who always made him feel so special, and best friends Willy Desforges and Randy Ross. He loved his family dearly and he was greatly loved in return. He is survived by his wife Brenda (nee Brinkmeier) and his two children Kristin and Kyle Laurin. Fern was a man of many talents, I always referred to him as my own personal MacGyver, there was nothing that he could not do, fix, or repair and he always went out of his way to do what he could for those that he loved. He wasn’t much of a sports fan, but if the Montreal Canadiens made the play offs you could always count on him being there to root them on! Fern had a great passion for cars, he had a grand collection that pretty much took over the living room. Everyone that seen it were in awe from amazement! Fern’s health was very poor for many years with a tremendous amount of suffering endured. I imagine him now in the arms of an Angel feeling great warmth and comfort. He will be sadly missed and loved each and everyday. Fern’s passing was a peaceful one, at home surrounded by his family. At Fern’s request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation, ashes to be buried in the family plot at Park Lawn Cemetery at a later date, where friends and family will be welcome to attend. Friends and family may call at the family home.
