It is with deeply saddened hearts that the family of Fern Madeline Purves announces her passing at Bluewater Health on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late William Purves. Loving mother of Paul (Sandra) Purves and Diane (Rob) Norton. Cherished grandmother of Jessica (Dave) Avellino, Alison (Brian) Shuter, Kelsey Purves, Dayle Purves and Jim Purves. Treasured Gigi of Luca and Mason Avellino and Olivia Shuter.
Fern enjoyed many hobbies including flowers and gardening, cooking, baking, cookbooks and reading. She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Surgical and Palliative teams at Bluewater Health for all of their care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a memorial celebration following at 11:00 a.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to London Road West United Church (cheques only at the funeral home please).
