Fern Louise Pellar passed away on June 13, 2022 at the age of 92. Born to the late Ted and Hazel Kreuter of Rostock. Wife of the late Bruce Pellar (1983). Her brother Cliff Kreuter predeceased and niece Janie Kreuter predeceased Fern. Survived by sister-in-law Marilyn Kreuter. Survived by brother-in-law Ron and Margie Pellar of Waterloo, Neil and Shirley Pellar of Kitchener and Richard Ronald of Cambridge. Fern and Bruce had 6 children: Ted and Rose Pellar of Wasaga Beach, Tom and Karen Pellar of London, Tim Pellar – Stratford, Terry and Sharon Pellar – Sebringville, Tracey and Daniele Polidoro – St. Mary’s. Angie Pellar and Jamie Metcalfe of Stratford. Nana to 14 Grandchildren and Nana Nana to 18+ great grandchildren. (1983). And sister to the late Cliff Kreuter. Sister-in law to the late Ferol Ronald (Richard Ferol) of Cambridge.
Fern graduated as an RN in 1950 from K-W hospital now known as Grand River Hospital. She nursed in Kitchener, Collingwood, Stratford and Guelph. The last 10 years of her career she was a homemaker supervisor for the Red Cross. In retirement for over 20 years, she did volunteer work in the community. She was a member of Avondale United Church.
Funeral service will take place on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. Donations to Avondale United Church or Service Dogs of Canada.
Fern valued her family and friends. She wrote this poem to Bruce.
“I wrote this in the evening when I had caught a world of beauty deep in thought, when looking up, there upon a hill, stood my love, holding out his hand, leading me to the promised land”
