Fe Carmen Villafane Potekal
July 12, 1957 – November 18, 2022
On Friday, November 18th, with her loving family at her bedside, Carmen took her last breaths before her final rest, at Kelowna General Hospital.
Carmen was born July 12th, 1957, in San Carlos, Philippines. She attended University of Santo Tomas in Manilla, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Carmen moved to Cranbrook, BC, Canada in the early 90’s, and married her husband Edward Potekal in December 1992. In 2008 Carmen graduated from College of the Rockies in Cranbrook BC, as a Health Care Assistant, and worked as an HCA up until her retirement. She excelled at and loved caring for others.
Carmen will always be remembered as an amazing cook who was always in the kitchen, an incredibly kind caring soul who loved her family endlessly. With her sarcastic humour, Carmen was a fierce force to be reckoned with.
Carmen was predeceased by her parents Fidel and Angelita Villafane, her sister Christina, and her brother Fidel Jr.
Carmen will be missed and remembered by her sister Melinda, her adoring husband Ed, her daughters Faith, Faye (Arya), and Sarah (Justin), as well as her grandchildren, and the many friends and lives she touched while on this earth.
As per Carmens request, there will be no service.
