Fannie Gwendolyn Clements Brothers 19302022

Fannie Gwendolyn (Clements) Brothers
1930-2022
Fannie Gwendolyn (Clements) Brothers, age 91,
passed away peacefully April 22, 2022, due to aging health
complications while surrounded by her family. She was born June 6,
1930, in Gibson Woods, Nova Scotia, to Joseph Andrew and Evalina
(Gibson) Clements. She was married to her loving husband Phillip
Whitman Brothers Sr. of Cambridge, Nova Scotia, who preceded her in
death in 1993.
For many years Fannie worked at Canada
Employment and Immigration in Kentville after graduating from MAX
Business College in Kentville. She rose to an Agent I designation
before retiring in 1987. It suited her servant heart. She said she
made a promise to herself and family to become a role model for her
children and teach them to strive in life. She used to say:
“Do what’s right and do what’s good. Be
kind and help others. The world can always use one kinder
person”. Fannie was a dedicated mother first and foremost.
She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She
especially loved her role as Nan. For many years Fannie was a member
of the Royal Canadian Legion No.6 Branch – Auxiliary, and
played dart for the league. She enjoyed playing bingo, dancing, and
socializing.
“I have enjoyed my life and want to
thank some of those that made this possible. Topping the list is
family and close survivors, the most important, my husband Phillip,
was always my knight in shining armour — Well, actually my
knight was a great provider, but for a romantic spin, I’ll
go with the armour, he’ll live with me
forever.”
Her life was a living example of her favorite
Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and
compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also
forgave you in Christ.”
She was preceded in death by her loving husband
Phillip Brothers Sr.; father and mother, Joseph Andrew and Evalina
(Gibson) Clements; brothers, Regional, Barry, Harold, William, Mervin,
and Allan; sisters, Ruth Swartz, Evelyn Ross, Anne Parent, Barbara
Padmore, baby Frances; and great granddaughter, Simone Morgan. Baby
Simone will be laid to rest with her
great-grandmother.
She will be sorely missed and is survived by
her sisters, Bessie Croxen, Port Alberni, BC; Doris Evans,
Cherrybrook, NS; Carole Clements, Toronto, ON; children, Paula
(Brothers) Morgan, son-in-law, Orville Morgan; Phillip Brothers Jr.,
daughter-in-law Leslie Davidson; grandchildren, Terril Morgan and
Alana Cody, Feabo and Adrienne (Morgan) McNish, Noah Brothers, and
Ethan Brothers; and great-grandchildren, Whitten, Andre, Milan and
Elara. Also, her devoted friend, Daniel MacDonald and many nieces,
nephews, and in-laws. All whom loved her dearly and will never forget
her tenacity, wit, charm, grace (when pertinent) and undying love and
caring for them.
A conversation once had between her grandson
and Nan went like this: “Nan you’ve lived through
World War II, to the invention of electric cars, that’s so
cool”. Nan replied, “I never thought about it, I
guess I have had an amazing
life.”
A graveside burial service has been requested
by Fannie, with Deacon Craig Gibson officiating. Interment will take
place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in Cambridge Baptist
Church Cemetery, 5981 Nova Scotia Trunk 1, Cambridge. For those unable
to attend, a video webcast will be available on Wednesday, May 4,
2022. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Stoke
Foundation or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
