Obituary of Evelyn Jessie Bettle
Bettle, Evelyn “Lynn” Jessie (nee Davies) –
The death of Evelyn “Lynn” Jessie (nee Davies) Bettle, age 89, wife of the late Douglas Weir Bettle, occurred on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Lynn was born in Montreal, Quebec on April 14, 1933, daughter of the Late Rupert Elliott Davies and Helen Louise (Lyall Grant) Davies.
Lynn was Baptist by faith. In her early years, Lynn was employed by Bell Canada, Montreal, Quebec and later employed in retail, retiring in 1989. She is survived by two daughters, Roberta Lynn (the late Yves) Collomb of Hampton, N.B., Susan Marjorie (John) Brown of West Kelowna, BC, one son Daryl Warren Bettle (Tabatha) of Lakeside, N.B., seven Grandchildren, John William Brown (Sophia), Lynn Marjorie (Kerry) Berndt and Stephen Douglas Brown (Natasha), all of West Kelowna, BC, Jacqueline Helene Collomb (Mike Landry) of Saint John N.B., Carole Lynn (Collomb) McEwen (Mike) of Salt Springs, N.B., and Robert Andre Collomb (Chanel) of Hampton, N.B., and Judson Arthur Douglas Bettle (Rachel) of Oromocto, N.B., Fourteen Great Grandchildren, William, Madeline, Katalina, Tiana, Ronan, Kameron, Emmett, Ursula, Carly, Colin, Jackson, Sean, Jacob and Willow, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by her parents and four brothers Lyall Stephen Davies (the late Anne), Russell Ian Davies (the late Pat), Robert Francis Davies (the late Leona), Eric Rupert Davies (the late Lillian), and two sisters Helen Ruth Davies and Marjorie Marion (Davies) Cheyne (the late Laurence).
At Lynn’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation will be under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Ashes will be buried beside her husband in Titus Hill Cemetery, at a yet to be determined date. Honorary Pall Bearers: Shirley and Hap Bettle, Cathy and Herbie Burhoe, and her seven Grandchildren.
