Evelyn Florence
Thomson – age 86, of Canning, passed away on Thursday, March
3, 2022, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
Born in Canard, she
was a daughter of the late Charles and Mabel (Benedict)
Weisner.
Evelyn worked numerous
jobs over the years, ranging from homemaker to labourer at Canard
Poultry and a custodian at the Cornwallis District High School in
Canning. She was also a volunteer for the breakfast program at the
Glooscap Elementary School. She was a loving wife, mother,
grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by those who knew
and loved her.
She is survived by her
husband, Robert; Canning; daughter, Karen Hares, Kentville; son,
Timothy, Canning; grandchildren, Brenton (Jamie) Hares, Dartmouth and
Dustin Hares (Jenna Henderson), Brookside; sister, Madeline Tupper,
Kentville; son-in-law, David Hares, Dartmouth; nieces, nephews and
extended family.
She was predeceased by
sister, Joyce Dempsey; brothers, Clarence, Clyde, Eugene
“Bub”; an infant sister and two infant
brothers.
Cremation has taken
place and there will be no visitation, by request. A celebration of
Evelyn’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March
22, 2022 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A video webcast
of the service will also be available at that time.
Donations in memory
may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
