Evelyn went to be with her Lord and Saviour on January 18, 2022, at the age of 91.
Evelyn was born in Makkum, Friesland, in 1930 to her parents Douwe and Reintje Wieling. She was the oldest with 3 sisters and 2 brothers, with one surviving sister in Rotterham, the Netherlands.
Evelyn leaves behind her children; Jane (daughter-in-law), Rennie (Gerry), Don (Katie), and Sid (Holly). Her legacy also includes 13 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
Evelyn immigrated to Canada in 1950 and joined her soon to be husband John Koldyk on June 16th, 1950. They were married in the Houston CRC and began their life together in the Bulkley Valley.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband John of 60 years, and her son Symon. She enjoyed her time on the farm raising her 4 children and she loved animals. Evelyn enjoyed singing in the church choir and engaged in volunteer work at “New To You” for several years. Mom was a loving and giving person to all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who all loved her dearly in return.
