It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Evalin “Linda” Grills on August 27th, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Predeceased by her parents Lawson and Evalin Taylor, husband Robert Grills, sister Marilyn Hutchinson, brothers-in-law Gerald Hutchinson and Lorne Grills. She is survived by her beloved daughter Angela (Ken), grandchildren Shane, Jessica and Liam, siblings Joan Grills, Mona Humphries (Ken), Hayden Taylor (Bonnie), Betty McIntosh (Ivan) and Grant Taylor (Terry), and many nieces and nephews.
Linda grew up in Burnley with her parents and 6 siblings on the family farm eventually residing in Cobourg where she began a long-standing career of 47 years with General Wire & Cable later known as Belden Canada Inc. She married Bob, and they were blessed with daughter Angela.
Linda loved classic country music. This was her true passion! For 18 years she tirelessly worked alongside business partner and long-time friend Gary Warner creating Apple Country Jamboree to host jamborees and musical events across the province. Linda made many good friends and acquaintances over the years attending and organizing musical events.
On Sundays, you would always find Linda attending service at Trinity United Church. As a lifelong member of the United Church of Canada, she volunteered her time on numerous committees.
Linda was a very involved and much-loved Grandmother and Aunt. Linda was always available for her devoted grandchildren and loved spending time with them, as they did with her. She will be greatly missed by all!
Donations can be made to Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice or Trinity United Church.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Evalin Linda
