It is with great sadness that we
announce the passing of Eva May Reid, age
104, of Amherst, NS. Eva passed away at Centennial Villa on
Monday, August 8, 2022.
Born in West Brook, NS she was a
daughter of the late Henry and Ada (Neiforth) Atkinson.
Eva was a housemother at the
Inter-provincial School for the Education of the Deaf for 18 years.
She was a member of the Sunrise Trinity United Church in Amherst Head
and when in Warren she attended and supported the Warren Baptist
Church, she was a member of the Women’s Institute of East Amherst, and
the Truemanville Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters
Jeanette Reid, Amherst, NS, Paulette Martin, Empress, AB; several
grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Aubrey Atkinson,
Truemanville, NS.
Besides her parents she was predeceased
by her husband Clarence, 2 sons Allison and Clair; brothers
William, Kenneth, and Ernest Atkinson.
Arrangements are under the care and
direction of Jones Family Funeral Centre,
Amherst, NS, (902 667 8777). A graveside funeral service
will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 6:30 pm in the Warren
Cemetery, Ruth Gamble, DLM officiating. All are invited to
attend.
Donations in memory of Eva may be made
to the Warren Baptist Church, or the charity of your
choice.
