Obituary
Mrs. Eunice Velma Jones of Lethbridge passed away at the Extendicare in Lethbridge, Alberta on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the age of 98 years.
Eunice was born on August 29, 1923 on the farm south of Carnduff, Saskatchewan. She married Harmon Jones on April 8, 1946 in Brandon, Manitoba. They farmed a number of years before moving to Burdett, Alberta. Eunice spent many years cooking at the Bow Island hospital before moving to Taber, Alberta in 1974. She continued her love of cooking at the Clearview Lodge as the head cook until she retired. After Eunice’s husband Harmon passed away on May 10, 1984, Eunice married Wilbur Jones on August 31, 1985. After many years of farming and spending the winter months in sunny California, Wilbur Jones passed away and Eunice returned to Canada in 2008 to be closer to her family. Eunice enjoyed crocheting blankets and slippers for all her family members. She loved listening to Wilf Carter right up till her passing.
Eunice is survived by her 3 children; Son Jim (Sharon) Jones, Daughter Darlene (Barry) Hurt, Son Marvin (Dorothy) Jones; numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren and Nieces & Nephews.
Eunice was predeceased by her parents Frank and Jenny Mains; husbands Harmon Jones & Wilbur Jones; Brother Fred Mains; Sisters Nellie Jameson and Coral Smith; numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
A private family Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Mountain View Cemetery.
