Eugene Lindsay Myers Sunday June 26th 2022

It is with a heavy heart that I bid farewell to dad, Eugene Lindsay Myers, age 98, who passed away at Glengarry Memorial Hospital, Alexandria, on Sunday, June 26th, 2022. If you asked him, he would say he had a good life; from his birth in Bonneville to his move to Tollgate Rd where he grew up and worked with his father running Myers Dairy, to his service in the Canadian Airforce during WWII, to his 50 years as an employee of Courtaulds LTD, to his over 70 year membership of the Cornwall Legion to his many years of volunteerism even earning him the Cornwall Senior Volunteer of the Year in 1982. Gene was the loving father of Betty Myers McIntosh (Neil), grandfather of Logan (Angela), Lindsay (Eric), Keil (Angie) and Cody (Lyndsey) as well as eleven great-grandchildren which he was blessed to get to know and love; he will also be missed by his companion Rita Seguin. Gene is preceded by his wife Irene (Lemieux), parents James and Pearl (Alguire) brother Earl and sister Dorothy. In lieu of a funeral there will be a private graveside service. Anyone wishing to make a memorial donation should direct the funds to The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297 Poppy Fund or the Maxville Manor Foundation. A big thank you to all the staff at the Maxville Manor who looked after Eugene, and a big hug to Alyson Graham, of Cedarwood Services, who was his compassionate caregiver.
