Ethel Rose Young 2022

Ethel’s Obituary
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Ethel Rose Young announces her passing on May 7, 2022, at Fort St. John Hospital in BC, at the age of 73 years.
Ethel leaves to remember with fond and loving memories her son, Faron (Frances) Young; daughter, Sharon (Patrick) Turner; grandchildren Julia Roberts, Ryan Young and Shae Parsey; brother, Gordan (Kay) Milley; sister, Phyllis (Ralph) Mercer; sister-in-law, Beulah (Edward) Pardy; special family member’s, Justina Parsons (Brooke & Ethan); along with many other family members and friends.
Ethel is predeceased by her husband, Leonard; parents, Hubert and Dorothy Milley; sisters, Evelyn (Wallace) Burton, Loretta (Harold) Huxter; brothers, David Milley; Leonard Milley; mother and father-in-law, Mildred and Tom Parsons.
Ethel lived in South Brook for seventy years of her life; the past three years she has lived with her daughter Sharon, in Fort St. John, BC. She married the love of her life Leonard Young, of Springdale, on July 1, 1966. Together they had two children, Faron and Sharon. She loved being a mom and protected her children fiercely. She was overjoyed when her grandchildren Julia, Ryan and Shae came along. More kids to love and watch grow up; she was so proud of them. Ethel’s family meant everything to her and she was the greatest Mom and Grandma.
Ethel’s first job was owning her own convenience store in South Brook. After this adventure she decided to go work at Burnt Berry Motel, where she cooked for many years. Ethel loved to cook, especially for her family and friends. When you visited her you never left without a full belly. She also loved to clean, so her house was spotless. Ethel was also a homecare worker with the elderly, as she looked after her own sick Mom for over thirty years. Doing this gave Ethel great joy. She loved her Mom and Dad dearly and did everything that she possibly could for them as they aged, she was an amazing daughter.
In Ethel’s younger years she enjoyed going to their cabin at West Pond, spending time at the Rabbit Camp, reading, skidooing and knitting. She loved being with her family and friends making so many memories along the way.
Later in Ethel’s life she put her trust in God and became a faithful church going lady. She loved her Lord dearly and would always pray that her children would find their way to Him, so they could all meet again in Heaven. Ethel’s life wasn’t always easy and she suffered physical pain on a daily basis, but her strength and will to live was unbelievable. Through all of the sickness she would persevere and fight to make it through to another day. If there ever was a pillar of strength, it was Ethel. She fought the good fight, she has finished the course and has won the race. She is now sitting in the presence of her Savior.
