In Celebration of
Estelle Cowe
December 9, 1922 –
November 10, 2022
Peacefully in her sleep at McCall Centre at Trillium Health Partners, 140 Sherway Dr. on Thursday, November 10, 2022 just 30 days before her 100th birthday. Predeceased by her husband, Alexander (2002). Loving mother of Donald (Silvia) and James. Adoring Babcia to Christine. Loving Aunt to Suzanne and Shelley. Also loving Auntie “Tella” to Nancy, Arlene, Brian and Bruce (2019) Cowie. Predeceased by her parents and siblings Zofia, Kasmierez, Sylvia, Ted and John Matchung. She will be sadly missed by her long time caregiver Wiesia and also missed by her cousin Helen Wawrow. A special thanks to all the outstanding staff at McCall. The place will not be the same without her wit and sense of humour. Estelle was born in a small village in Poland and emigrated to Canada at the age of 5. She grew up outside Port Hope and then moved to Toronto where she met Alex and they had a wonderful life together between cottaging at Lake Simcoe and wintering in Hallandale Florida.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway, on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm . A funeral mass will be held at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, 122 Rathburn Rd., Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 11am. Interment to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.
