Obituary of Erma Rose Sauve
Erma Rose (Storie) (McFadden) Sauvé
With sadness the family of Erma Rose Sauvé announce her passing at Eastholme Home for the Aged on August 10, 2022, at the age of 92.
Erma will be remembered and missed by her children Lori Mayne (Chris) of North Bay, Terry McFadden (Nancy) of Bala and Lisa Speirs of Toronto. She was Gram to Catharine Mayne Peacock (John), Geoffrey Mayne, Carolyn Mayne, Gordon McFadden (Stephanie), James McFadden, Tracy McFadden, Ben McFadden, and Alexandra “Ali” Speirs. Erma was a great grandmother to Hugh Hannah, Jade McFadden, and to Claire McFadden.
Predeceased by her husbands Lewis “Bert” McFadden and Marcel Jean Sauvé.
Also Predeceased by her parents Tom and Rose (Hanselman) Storie of Powassan, grandson Thomas McFadden and siblings Edith Neil, Elva McFadden, Hazel Lowery, Elaine Whittaker, Mervin Storie, Garnet Storie, Earl Storie and Ivan Storie.
Erma leaves her surviving sister Noreen Bowman, of Nipissing Township, an extended family and countless friends. She adored her nieces and nephews and all of their friends many of whom have been very supportive throughout her lifetime, including her final journey.
She was born and raised at the Storie Settlement, and left the farm for North Bay where she married Bert to raise a family at Lakeside Drive.
Mom loved family reunions, rejoicing in the “Storie” telling of farm days growing up on the Alsace, all types of music, dancing – especially the line dance, her little dog Sadie, winters in sunny Florida with her husband Marcel and spending summers at her second home on McQuaby Lake.
She was in her 50th year with AA. She was helped and, in turn, strove to help and encourage many others who then became lifelong friends.
A true humanitarian who judged no one, always serving as a shoulder to lean on no matter the circumstance. Her quiet wit and cheeky sense of humour will be missed by all who knew her.
The family thanks Dr Ng and the staff of Eastholme for the attentive care she received.
An Interment Service will be held at the Terrace Lawn Cemetery on August 26th, at 1:30 in the afternoon.
Donations to The Gathering Place would be gratefully acknowledged as expression of sympathy, and to continue Erma’s lifelong mission and dedication of helping those less fortunate.
Arrangements entrusted to the Martyn Funeral Home and online condolences can be made at www.martynnfh.com.
