Erma Ellen Findlater (nee Thomas)
Passed away at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Sunday July 24, 2022, in her 85th year. Cherished wife of Bruce; Much loved mother of the late Peggy (1985), Cindy Habel (Brad) and Bob (Cindy) and grandmother of Lukas (Hannah) and Ben (Jess). Sadly missed by her brother Lorne Thomas (Lynn) and sister, Shirley Cromwell (the late Ed) and brother-in-law Jim Findlater (Laura), as well as her nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Gladys Thomas (nee Herkenratter), sister, Katherine Brethauer (Orvin). Erma was a long-time resident of the village of Ayr and well known and appreciated by the community for her seamstress abilities. Many a pair of pants were taken in or let out and hemmed. Erma also loved to care and work in her garden along with Bruce and she loved to bake for the friends and families in their close-knit neighbourhood on Water Street, hence the letting out of the pants. She loved her family and time spent with her many friends she made over the years. Cremation has taken place. A service of committal will be held at Ayr Cemetery at a later date.
