Obituary of Erik Nickolas Dewit
DEWIT, Erik Nickolas
July 17th, 1950- August 19th, 2022
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the age of 72. Loving husband and best friend to Colleen Dewit, whom he shared 38 years of marriage with. Loving father to Debby Rankin and Gary (Carrie) MacInnes. Cherished grandfather to Meghan, Jacob and Lauren. Reunited with parents Nickolas and Wilhelmina Dewit. Brother to Yvonne (Dennis), Fran (Mario) and Terry. Uncle to several nieces and nephews. Will be missed by many friends, extended family and especially his Puerto Vallarta family.
Erik was a plumber/ pipefitter and dedicated employee of Ford. Upon retirement, he had more time to enjoy his garden, pool and fish. Through the winter months he and Colleen enjoyed travelling to Florida and Puerto Vallarta. There were many concerts where Erik and his favourite lady (Colleen) shared their love of music and we can’t forget the casino nights! Even though our loss is immense we are all truly blessed to have had such a kind, generous, loving and honourable man. We have truly lost and extraordinary person.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation to take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel), 11677 Tecumseh Rd E, 519.253.7234 on Thursday August 25th from 2:30pm until time of memorial prayer service at 5:30pm in the chapel.
