Obituary
With sad hearts and gentle relief, we announce the passing of Eric Ernest Wright at the age of 77 years on May 20, 2022 at the Pincher Creek Hospital with family at his side.
Eric will be remembered by his loving wife of 55 years, Myrna; son Jason and his partner Danny of Calgary; along with daughter Jody of Strathmore, and grandsons: Bailey, Emmitt and Tate. His brother-in-law, Al Gehman of Coleman, and other close relatives and friends near and far will also remember him.
He is predeceased by his parents, Arthur (1976) and Verda (2009); his sister, May Gehman (2017); his father-in-law, Jack Ledingham (1992) and mother-in-law, Annie Ledingham (1987); brother-in-law, Dave Ferguson (1994) and sister-in-law, Gwen Ferguson (2018).
Eric was born in 1945 to Arthur and Verda Wright and was raised on the family farm in the Tennessee Coulee area. Is his early school years, he rode horse back with his older sister, May, to Tanner School. Later he went to Lundbreck School where he finished Grade 10, and furthered his education at SAIT to become a heavy-duty mechanic and later a Millwright. He spent his first years working at local companies in Pincher Creek and then worked 34 years for Shell Waterton.
Eric was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was solid in his friendships, his relationships with coworkers and family. He was always there for his family: supporting, teaching and helping. He loved driving his grandsons to sporting events and cheering them on.
He loved the mountains, as he worked in the field for Shell, spent time snowmobiling, camping and fishing. Retirement for Eric included contracting out his services, maintaining the yard, supporting his family, and helping with driving the grandchildren in their busy lives.
Eric was a great man and will be greatly missed by all.
