Tributes
Born in Ottawa on July 20th, 1927 and died at St. Vincent’s (Bruyere) Hospital on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Eric loved and was loved by his wife Anne Lawrie Wimberley (`nee Paterson) of 47 years. He loved and was proud of their two sons, James and Kevin. Jim and Trudy have raised two marvelous young ladies, Tianna and Jayna. Kevin and Jackie are raising two wonderful, almost teens, Ava and Ethan. Eric lived for 95 years (1927 -2022). In his younger “dash” he sailed at what is now the Britannia Yacht Club, went on motorcycle road trips and ski weekends, he then found flying. He got his pilot’s license and went on to be a life member of the Gatineau Gliding Club. Eric’s first career was with Computing Devices, then to Leigh Instruments, and on to be the Vice-President of Business Operations with the Canadian Cable Television Association., The family will greet people on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd., Nepean (between Bayshore & Baseline) from 1:30 – 2:30pm. A celebration of life will follow in the chapel at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
