Obituary
Enid Ruth Schloen (Van Blaricom) passed away peacefully at Albright Manor on Monday, February 28, 2022, in her 84th year. We rejoice that Enid is now with her Lord and Saviour in Heaven. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Beloved wife of William Schloen. Cherished mother of Heather Alm (Glen), J. David Schloen (Sandra), Janet Boden (Michael). Enid was a proud grandmother of eight educated and accomplished grandchildren: Peter, Mark; Josh (Chrissy), Emily, Sam; Sophia (Terrence), Anna, and J. Robert. Enid was also blessed with three great-grandchildren.
Enid was born in Morganston, Cramahe Township to (David) Grant Van Blaricom and Mildred (Massey) Van Blaricom. She was predeceased by her older brother, Paul Van Blaricom, and is survived by her siblings Jane McDougall (Doug) and Sheridan Van Blaricom (Pamela Jessop).
Enid was a retired teacher and well-educated, completing her BA followed by a Master of Theology later in life. She loved classical and gospel music, and she had an amazing ability to remember her family history and genealogy. She was an avid reader with a love of history, music, and theology.
Enid’s family would like to thank the wonderful and caring doctor, nurses, and staff at Albright Manor in Beamsville, where she spent the last four years of her life. Their excellent care, kindness and compassion enabled Enid to enjoy an exceptional quality of life as her health slowly declined.
Visitation will be held at Weaver – Warkworth on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm. Spring Interment Cramahe Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the University of Toronto (Massey College or Hart House) or Tyndale University in Toronto would be appreciated by the family.
