Emma Elizabeth “Betty” McLaine
1930-2022
Betty was the daughter of Emma (McDougall) and Harold Carver,
she was raised by her Aunt Clara and Uncle Charles Hamm of Hazelbrook
after the death of her mother in childbirth.
There were two
constants in Betty’s life; Faith & Family, Betty
showed her devotion to God through her volunteering at: Church,
F.I.S.H., Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Open Door Ministries.
Betty and Wendell were proud parents of Peter (Janice), Barbara
(Butch) Pelletier and Gary (Jane) McLaine; twelve grandchildren; Amy
(Brian) Scales, Fallon, Stephen McLaine; Hayley, Aaron Halushka,
Rebekah (Josh) Burnstad and Sarah, Scott and Alison McLaine. As well,
eleven great-grandchildren: Laura, Sara, and Benjamin Scales; Corbin
MacKinley, Millie and Ava McLaine; Jaiden, Kai, Adleigh, Beckett and
Austyn Burnstad.
Betty is also survived by numerous nieces
and nephews. Predeceased by sister Jean (Ross) Down, brother Ludlow
(Elma) Carver, sisters-in-law Laura (Walter) Pickard and Beth (Harvey)
Cole.
Betty’s approach to life was with laughter,
love, shopping and dining out. Betty had many friends, she was a
thoughtful listener and a humorous vivid storyteller.
Private funeral at Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home
on Thursday.
A huge thank-you goes out to the staff of
Parkwest Home for the kindness they have provided these past
years.

Our deepest sympathy to the McLaine family in the passing of their matriarch…profoundly remembered and missed by all and especially by her great grandson, Corbin who cherishes the memories he made with her…”she would not let go of my hand when I went to visit her”…how sweet is that memory. God Bless all in this time of sadness..🙏🏽
