Obituary of Ella Marie Ruggles
Ella Marie Ruggles, age 76, passed away peacefully in the Valley Hospice Kentville. Born in Windsor on August 24, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Brice and Leora (Schofield) Walsh. She was a resident of Avonport/Kentville.
Ella much preferred to be inside, working around the house, but did enjoy many happy years camping in Keji, or sitting around the backyard campfire with family and friends. She also enjoyed family gatherings and chatting with family and friends on the phone. She was a devoted member of the Avonport Baptist Church, and spent many years serving on the different committees.
Ella is survived by her daughter, Anna; sisters, Marion Sawler, Maxine (Max) Blackmore and Eva (Roy) VanBuskirk; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
In addition to her parents, Ella was predeceased by her beloved husband, Vernon; brothers, Ron Croft, Brice and twin brother, Burt.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on March 26, 2022 at 2:00pm in the Avonport Baptist Church with Pastor Eva VanBuskirk and Rev. Brian Keezer to officiate, with a reception to follow. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822)
