Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Vandepoele of Delhi . It is with great sadness that we announce mom’s passing at the Norfolk General Hospital , Simcoe on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the beautiful age of 91. Mom enjoyed many years of making costumes for the Delhi Ice Carnivals and was a proficient seamstress, even making hats. She was very artistic, she took up painting as a new art form at the age of 85. She was a Past Member of the Catholic Women’s League and a Charter Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 125 ( Delhi ). Former Elizabeth Margaret Dianovczki, beloved wife of the Late Anthony “Tony” Vandepoele (1991). Loving mother of Monica Jones (Joe), Kathy Baese (Late Jake, 2021), Tony Vandepoele, Darcy Abbott (Bill) and Janine Mandryk (Steve). Cherished grandmother of Darren (Jeanette), Colin (Kelley), Karin, Mark (Julie), Matt, Sharon, Breanne (Derek), Nash (Kyle), Blair (Loretta), Lesley (Steven), Alex (Perry), Sydni, Sianna and great-grandmother of 21 and great great grandmother of one. Dearest sister of Helen Vanka. Also, survived by many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Predeceased by her sisters Pearl & Mary, by her brother Peter and by her son-in-law Neal Shelton. In consideration of the continuing health and safety of our friends and family, a Private Family Funeral Service will take place with Interment in Delhi Cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 125 ( Delhi ) Poppy Fund or the Delhi Community Health Centre can be made at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
