Obituary of Elizabeth MELROSE
It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mum. Betty passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 9, 2022, after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her ever-loving husband George (January 14, 2019), her son Alan (May 21, 2015) and her grandson Richard (March 3, 2019). Betty leaves behind her 3 loving daughters Terry (Pete), Debbie (Ken), and Alison (Jeff). Cherished granny of Sean, Amanda, Steven, Andrew, Melanie and Matthew. Proud great granny of Gavin, Hailey, Georgia, Sybil and Odin. Betty will be sadly missed by both her Canadian and Scottish Families, her many nieces and nephews and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Betty Loved her family more than life itself. She was the life of the party in her younger years and the best ballroom dancing partner George ever had. She loved to play cards when family came to visit and taught her son-in-law Pete how to cheat … lol! She enjoyed having lots of laughs and good times. Unfortunately, her health started to deteriorate over the last 6 years, but she made the best of life and never complained. She still insisted on having her hair and nails done, including her toes. She had to look her best always! Losing her husband left a huge emptiness in her heart but she overcame the grief and carried on with her loving family by her side.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the In Memoriam Funeral Services Inc. at
28 Main Street, North Grand Valley, Ontario on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 11:00am to 1:00pm.
As expressions of sympathy, donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County or Canadian Mental Health Association.
