Obituary of Elizabeth Josephine Skelly
SKELLY, Elizabeth Josephine
March 9, 1927 – June 3, 2022
Peacefully at the Rosewood Retirement Residence, in her 96th year, after spending her last few days with visiting family. Devoted mother to Andrew Skelly (Diane) of Brampton and Michael Skelly (Heidi) of Toronto; loving grandmother to Sabrina Skelly.
Betty is also survived by her sister Dorothy Squire of Kingston and her nieces Mary Murphy (Don) of Sydenham; Maureen Finn (Neil), Margaret McDonald (Mark) and Sheila Fowler (Ed), all of Kingston; and by her nephew Jim Squire (Sandy) of Kingston.
She is predeceased by her husband Hugh Skelly, sisters Rita Hilton, Eileen Cain and Catherine Cain, her brother Joseph Cain, as well as brothers-in-law Cecil Hilton and Richard Squire, sister-in-law Vivian Cain and niece Anne Byrne.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Rosewood for their kindness and dedication over the past three years.
Family and friends will be received at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Blvd., on Wednesday, June 8, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at ST. JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 392 Palace Road, on Thursday, June 9 at 11:00 am, with Monsignor Joseph Lynch officiating. Rite of Committal with Prayers at St. Mary’s Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, in Mrs. Skelly’s memory.
