Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Harding
It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth Ann (Betty) Harding announce her sudden passing on Friday, September 23.
Predeceased by parents Vincent and Margaret Walsh and parent-in-laws Albert and Olive Harding.
Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 22 years, Shawn, and her two beautiful daughters, Caroline (Jason) and Christina, who were the lights of her life. Her girls always confided in their mom. She listened to their rants, dried their tears and gave them great advice. Family was everything to Betty, Betty was everything to her family. Their hearts are forever broken.
With memories in abundance but mourning her loss are brothers Vince (Donna), Glenn (Joanne), brother-in-law Murray (Tammy) and sister-in-law Suzanne (Jim). Betty was loved and adored by her nieces and nephews: Jenna, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Sydney, Jacob, Samantha, Dylan, Magen and Kelsie. They will never forget their Aunt Betty!
Betty’s pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. Her kindness and inviting ways made everyone feel welcome in her company. The simple pleasures in life brought great joy to Betty. Going to the cabin, a campfire and sing-along, a boat ride out the bay, a cup of tea with family and friends around the kitchen table, these things brought much happiness in her simple daily activities.
Betty was a leader, a volunteer and always jumped in to help others whenever she could. She devoted 12 years of her life as a brownie leader, serving for many years even after her girls moved on from the program. Her work at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation was an excellent fit. Her caring and giving personality certainly shone through and her contribution over the years helped with the success of the foundation.
Betty’s many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and special friend – cousin – soul sister Mary, will miss her tremendously, along with her furry friends Sage, Ivy and Mya.
Betty’s parents, Vince and Marg, met their baby girl with open arms, with Sandy, her beloved dog, standing close by with a wagging tail.
