Obituary of Eliza A. Fisher (nee DeZeng)
Formerly of St. Thomas and Manitoba, passed away at her residence, Chartwell Aylmer on Thursday, February 10, 2022, in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Leonard “Len” Fisher (2005). Dearly loved mother of Linda Veger (Rob) of Comox, BC, John Fisher (Rena) of Rodney, Les Fisher, Maureen Chapman (Gerry), and Michele Brad (Doug), all of St. Thomas. She was proud of her 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Also fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and their families. She was the last surviving member of her own immediate family, having been predeceased by a sister, Marjorie O’Connor, and three brothers, Thomas, Roy, and George DeZeng. Eliza was born in Portage la Prairie, MB, September 2, 1925, a daughter of the late LeRoy and Emma (née Little) DeZeng. She was a retired Nurses Assistant at the Memorial Hospital, St. Thomas. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private ceremony to celebrate Eliza’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged. Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
